FREE GIFT

GRACE: ETERNAL LIFE / HEAVEN / SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT

It is not earned or deserved.

Romans 6v23 .. the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Because Eternal Life / Heaven is a gift it cannot be earned or deserved though personal effort, good works, religious activity, philosophy, sincerity …

Ephesians 2v8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works lest anyone should boast.

We cannot earn our way to Heaven because …

MAN IS A SINNER He cannot save himself!

Romans 3v23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Sin is anything we think, say, do or don’t do that goes against God who is perfect. We are not perfect! Gods standard is perfection.

Matthew 5v48 Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect.

However in spite of our sin …

GOD IS MERCIFUL and does not want to punish us!

1 John 4V8 … God is love .

Jeremiah 31v3 … I have loved you with an everlasting love …

GOD IS JUST and must punish sin

Exodus 34v7 … Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished …

Ezekiel 18v4 The soul who sins is the one who will die.

WE CLEARLY HAVE A PROBLEM

God loves us and does not want to punish us but He is just and must punish sin.

SO GOD HIMSELF SOLVED THIS PROBLEM FOR US IN THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST THE PROMISED MESSIAH

WHO HE IS?

He is the infinite God / Man who lived a perfect sinless life.

John 1v1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 

John 1v14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

WHAT HE DID?

HE DIED ON THE CROSS TAKING THE PUNISHMENT FOR US TO PAY THE PENALTY FOR OUR SINS AND ROSE FROM THE GRAVE FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION (SECURING / PURCHASING A PLACE IN HEAVEN FOR US).

Isaiah 53v5-6 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
Isa 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

1 Peter 2v24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the cross …

JESUS TOOK THE PUNISHMENT FOR OUR SIN ON THE CROSS AND OFFERS US ETERNAL LIFE / HEAVEN / SALVATION AS A FREE GIFT.

BUT HOW DO I RECEIVE THIS GIFT?

SAVING FAITH IS THE KEY

Saving faith is not just head knowledge about God – intellectual assent.

Even the demons believe, tremble and are clearly not saved.

It is not trusting God for temporal things like for your health, lost keys, finances, circumstances …

SAVING FAITH IS TRUSTING JESUS ALONE FOR ETERNAL LIFE / SALVATION.

TRUSTING HIM FOR WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE HAS DONE / NOT WHAT WE HAVE DONE OR DO FOR HIM.

Acts 16v31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved …

SO HOW DO YOU RECEIVE THE FREE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE / HEAVEN / SALVATION?

Accept Jesus as your Personal Savior (Sin bearer) and transfer your trust from yourself to Christ who bore your sin on the cross.

Repent – have a change of mind about the Person and Work of Christ.

Turn from your sin / your way / and go God’s Way.

Believe and receive Jesus by faith.

Confess Him as Your Savior, Lord and God.

John 1v12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

SIMPLY PRAY FROM THE HEART:

God I know I am a sinner and cannot save myself. I want to turn from going my own way and go Your way. I believe you Jesus took the punishment for my sin when you died on the cross and that you were buried and rose again. I receive you as my Personal Savior, Lord and God and thank you for the free gift of eternal life both now and forever. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you for making me your child. Amen.

God promises in His Word The Bible that He will never stop loving you and that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Hebrews 13v5.

Attending a Bible Church and growing in the grace and knowledge of God.
